Welcome Out-of-State Students

Welcome to UNCG!
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to UNCG.  I know you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t recognize the excellent academic and co-curricular opportunities that are available for all students, but there may be some surprises waiting for you too.  For some of you this may be a difficult transition, while for others it may be a welcome one.  Whatever the case, we believe you have made an excellent choice in becoming a Spartan.

While you pursue your chosen academic discipline, know that there are many opportunities for you to participate in student organizations, community service, and athletic and intramural activities.  Get involved in one way or another.  Not only will it enrich your life, it will help you manage your time better and it will make you more marketable for the future.  Try something new and different!  Just don’t let it be said that there is nothing of interest to you, because if there’s not a student organization that fits your interests, you can create your own with the help of the Campus Activities and Programs Office.

Along the way, you will make new lifelong friends.  You will meet a lot of interesting people and you will learn more about yourself.  You will grow in many different ways and you will expand your horizons beyond your current “world.”  Enjoy these years here at UNCG and if you ever need help of any kind, just ask someone!  There are a lot of people here who care deeply about students and we all want to see you become the success we know you can be.

Best wishes for a great and exciting experience here at UNCG.
