Schedule At-a-Glance

SOAR is a 2-day program, filled with an exciting variety of information sessions, interactive programs, and time to complete tasks necessary to inform you about your college experience and help you begin your first semester at UNCG.

Below is a schedule at-a-glance to give you an idea of what your days will be like at SOAR. A full schedule with more detail will be provided at SOAR check-in.

For those of you travelling from a distance, please note the beginning and ending times and plan accordingly.

We do not provide overnight accommodations for the SOAR program during the August session. You may chose to stay in your residence hall or at a local hotel. If you are driving from several hours away or flying to Greensboro, you might want to arrive the night before.

For information on move-in, go to Housing and Residence Life Web site. If you have questions or concerns about your move-in date, please contact Houseing and Residence Life.

To check-in, you will need to park in the Walker Avenue parking deck, and walk over to the Elliott University Center (EUC) conveniently located across the street from the parking deck. Your parking fees are included in your SOAR fee. You will use your SOAR nametag to exit the parking deck at no charge (this only applies to the Walker Avenue parking deck).

Freshman SOAR - Day 1

8:30am - 10:00am	Check-in at the EUC
8:30am - 6:00pm	Grab lunch and enjoy a variety of sessions and tours, such as: Student Welcome Taking Care of Business Foreign Language Placement Exams (Please select the Foreign Placement Exam option in the menu to the left, or click Here for details) Let's Get SOARing SOS group time School/College Welcome Get Involved Spartan Success 101: Accelerate your Academics
6:00pm - 9:30pm	Enjoy Dinner with Advise and Dine Dessert Reception Life on Campus I Bleed Blue & Gold: UNCG Traditions

Freshman SOAR - Day 2

8:00am-9:15am	Enjoy breakfast which is provided to all SOAR families and students
9:30am - 5:00pm	Attend detailed sessions with Q&A, such as: Rawkin' Welcome Week Athletes, Grogan Honors Strong, AshbyRC, Teaching Fellows Advising and Registration SOS Panel Out of State Lloyd Honors Living on Campus Commuting to Campus Computing Services Professors' Perspective Spartan EXPO
5:15pm	Rawkin Welcome Week Begins!
