Local Accommodations for Parents and Family Members

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FRESHMAN ARE REQUIRED TO STAY ON CAMPUS AND MAY NOT STAY WITH PARENTS OR FAMILY MEMBERS DURING SOAR.

On-Campus Housing

Parents and Family members attending the SOAR program have the option of choosing on-campus housing in our Moore-Strong Residence Hall for a fee. (Please visit the Fees page for details.) The on-campus housing offered to parents and family members is a traditional dorm room with hall-style, community bathrooms. Parents and Family members attending SOAR may choose from a private room where you will have the room to yourself, or a shared room where you may share with another parent also attending SOAR.

Each room in the residence hall comes standard with:

  • One pillow & pillowcase
  • Two sheets & one blanket
  • Two towels & one washcloth

If you choose to stay on campus, you will also need:

  • Casual comfortable clothes and shoes
  • Watch/alarm clock
  • Personal toiletries
  • Backpack or tote (We provide bags at check-in, but you may prefer your own.)
  • Shower shoes (flip flops)
  • Umbrella

Local Hotels

For parents and family members chosing not to stay on-campus, you may take advantage of local accommodations which offer discounted rates to SOAR families.   See list of local accommodations.
